Can you wear period pants at night?

Have you ever gone to sleep during your period and woken up to find your underwear soaked in blood? While waking up to period stains first thing in the morning might not be ideal, we’ve all been there, so don’t worry. The good news is that there are ways to help you manage those pesky night-time struggles, yes introducing our period sleepwear range.

We all know that getting a good night’s sleep can make a huge difference to our mood, especially during our period. However, this can be a struggle if you don’t have the right overnight protection in place and have to wake up multiple times during the night. It’s estimated that around 48% of women+ experience poor sleep during their period. [1] Between feeling uncomfortable, writhing in pain, and worrying about waking up with period stains all over our bed – sleeping while bleeding can be tricky...

You might have tried and tested all types of period products to protect you while you snooze – pads, tampons, or even menstrual cups. And now, you’d like to give period pants a go. But are they any good at preventing night-time leaks? Well, let’s find out…

Can period pants be worn throughout the night while sleeping?

While you can wear any pair of period pants at any time you like, our overnight period underwear range is specially designed to give maximum comfort and protection, even as you toss and turn in bed. They have a special overnight gusset that’s longer at the front and back, so you can dream peacefully without worrying about any leaks (because no one likes waking up to have to throw your bedding in the wash!). They soak up period blood and other fluids just like a towel but with the comfort of your normal underwear. Made with fabric that is gentle on your skin and with moisture-wicking properties – you can be sure to stay protected for up to 12 hours and catch up on some much-deserved sleep.

They’re available in three different styles including the Boyleg, High Waist, and even Pyjama Shorts that combine your normal PJ bottoms with the power of a pair of period pants. So, you can rest assured you’ll have a good night’s sleep whether you’re lying on your back, side, or stomach, even if you’re star-fishing across your mattress or curled up under the covers.

Are period panties comfortable to wear overnight?

Period pants look and feel just like normal underwear – they’re gentle on your skin and comfortable to wear throughout the night. What’s more, our sleepwear range features an overnight gusset that is longer at the front and the back, so your flow stays in place throughout the night. Period pants can be worn overnight for up to 12 hours (unlike tampons that shouldn’t be worn for more than 8 hours) and don’t need to be changed in the middle of the night so that you can sleep for longer without any interruptions. It’s not magic, but it’s close.

They can manage everything from blood to discharge, sweat to after-sex fluids, and anything in between. Made with soft and super-absorbent fabric designed with TriTech Performance, they quickly draw moisture away from the skin, keeping you dry and comfortable throughout the night, no matter what your V-Zone (that refers to everything to do with our vagina, vulva and the V-shaped front of your body) throws at you.

Can I wear period pants at night even if I have heavy periods?

Our period pants are designed to be more than enough to take care of your flow, even at its heaviest. You might be used to doubling up on pads or sleeping on towels to save your sheets, but you can rest assured knowing that our TriTech Performance and special overnight gusset will keep you protected throughout the night even with a heavy flow. Trying something completely new can be quite daunting, especially if you’ve worn a pad or tampon all your life, but our sleepwear range is designed specifically for overnight use, holding fluids securely in place for up to 12 hours of peaceful sleep.

Can I wear period pants when sharing my bed with my partner at night?

Of course! As period pants look just like your normal pair of underwear, chances are your partner won’t even notice. Remember that periods are a very normal part of life that doesn’t need to be hidden. Our sleepwear range is designed specifically for overnight use, so no need to worry about you and your partner waking up to blood-soaked sheets ever again. If you’re looking for a discreet option, our Period Sleep Shorts and Boyleg style look just like your regular pyjama bottoms, and are just as comfortable too, with the added benefit of extra coverage for full peace of mind. Or try our High Waist style which looks and feels just like your regular underwear, so you can wear them under your pyjamas, or just by themselves! Available in various sizes – you can choose a style and fit that makes you feel fabulous and comfortable, even while snoozing on your period…
